Fall 2017 One Room Challenge – The Big Reveal!
Hey all! First off apologies for my missed posts on the One Room Challenge….in the last few weeks our small town was hit by a tornado (a real odd occurrence in our area!). Fortunately our house was sparred any real damage but our yard was another story! We were without power for a week and without cable and internet for much longer… the good news is everyone was safe and the last fallen tree was finally removed from our yard yesterday! In the middle of all this our house went under contract, we were preparing to pack up our house of 6 years in less than a month and figure out where all our stuff was going to go while we lived in our 900 sq ft condo in Blowing Rock while we decided what our next move would be…. and then less than a week later they backed out of the contract! Talk about an emotional roller coaster!
So lets get back on track… that 900 sq feet Condo in Blowing Rock is all finished and we are in LOVE with every single detail of the space! It is the contemporary mountain getaway that we had always wanted! We even managed to finish both the bedrooms, baths and kitchen too – there are some perks to a tiny space, everything moves a little faster! Let me refresh your memory with some before’s:
And a few more of the bedrooms and the master bath (which had no shower?????) and the guest/girls bath:
I know… I know… that hurts the eyes! Now sit down, get a beverage and be prepared to be delighted!! Presenting the afters…. new paint, fresh floors, new bath tile, new countertops, repainted cabinets and all new fixtures!
The kitchen and dining area got an update also…. created more space by adding a settee and moving the table over, the open glass console with a mirror above works to make the space feel larger and the kitchen got a big overhaul with fresh paint and hardware on the cabinets, new quartz countertops and a classic white subtile backsplash.
I also have a little sneak into the bath of the living area, which also serves as the bath for our three girls… we did subway tile shower, small octagon black and white tile floor and new countertops. Not expensive materials but they certainly make a big bang for the buck!
And the room that our three girls share… this was super tricky because the placement of the windows, door and closet really dictated that the furniture placement. Bunk beds were a must and these were perfect because they a lower profile and don’t overwhelm the small room!
The master bedroom is also a cozy (aka very small space) but we just adore how glamorous and relaxing it turned out!
And there she is… all 900 sq feet of her! Thanks for sticking with me and I hope you enjoyed the tour! Next week I will be back with a source guide and more info on all the details like the fab art and accessories! Have a Blessed Week!
